Common Chokecherry
Prunus virginiana
Notes:
This tree unexpectedly showed up in the yard. I had to identify it. But was very happy to find it. Originally, I wanted to plant a chokecherry and pin cherry. I decided against it because I was afraid the japanese beetles would demolish it every year. But for some reason, they seem to not be interested in this volunteer chokecherry.
Suburbia is where the developer bulldozes out the trees, then names the streets after them.
