Smooth Aster
Symphyotrichum laeve
Notes:

From what I've read, Asters are one of the best caterpillar host plants. The adult pollinators also like them.

One of the Smooth Asters got eaten by rabbits in early summer about three straight years. But from what I've heard and read, most native plants are used to getting chewed on. This flower survived and is doing well.

We need to consider how our actions affect wildlife and the environment, and how they are likely to affect others.
