It's fairly common to see mallard pairs walking through the neighborhood in spring. But they seem to disappear in early summer. I'm not sure if any of them actually nest in the neighborhood.
We abuse land because we regard it as a commodity belonging to us. When we see land as a community to which we belong, we may begin to use it with love and respect.
